Frequently asked questions.

What makes this Solo and Ensemble Festival different from my local or state festival?

In our Solo and Ensemble Festival, your performance will be evaluated by a professional performer in your genre. Our Pros don’t just give you a score, they will give you insights to help you improve your performance and help you develop your craft. All participants in our Solo and Ensemble Festival receive a medal, digital certificate and a bio of the Pro that evaluated their performance. If you want a really special Solo and Ensemble experience, register for our Enhanced Solo and Ensemble. Enhanced Solo and Ensemble participants also receive a 1 hour virtual video coaching session with a pro that can coach you to an even better performance.

What should I perform?

Most state or local solo and ensemble festivals have a set list of music to pick from but we do not have a required list. You can perform anything you like, with or without accompaniment. We suggest your performance be between 1-6 minutes in length.

What genres of Performing Arts do you specialize in?

We work with Bands, Orchestras, Vocalists, Dance and Theater performers of all ages (both students and adults).

What if I’m not ready to upload a video of my performance yet?

Once you are registered you will receive an email from Performing Arts Professional Coaching to confirm your order. You can reply to that email and attach a link to your Youtube or Vimeo video to the email. You can also attach a pdf to the email of any music or monologues you would like the Pros to see when they do their evaluation. Once we have received the video link, your performance will be evaluated within 2 weeks and you will receive your score and comments.

How does the scheduling work for Enhanced Solo Ensemble and Virtual Coaching?

When you register for Enhanced Solo Ensemble or Virtual Coaching, you are signing up for a 1 hour live video conference with one of our pros. We ask that you list 4 different dates/times that you would available for your video conference. You will only be able to select dates that are starting at least 2 weeks from the time of your registration. Once we receive your scheduling requests, we will schedule the pro that will work with you. You will receive a zoom meeting request once the date and time have been set along with a bio of the pro you will be working with.

What is the cancellation policy?

Enhanced Solo and Ensemble or Virtual Coaching events can be cancelled or rescheduled by you at any time. If you cancel a scheduled event within 48 our hour of the zoom meeting, there will be a $60 cancellation fee. If you need to reschedule an event, please email us at info@performingartspro.com. Please refer to your order number and let us know the new dates/times you are available for your zoom meeting.

What if I have a big group of more than 10?

We love working with large groups! Along with coaching soloists and small ensembles, our pros have many years of experience coaching full jazz ensembles, concert bands, string orchestras, full orchestras, concert choirs, show choirs, dance ensembles and full theater ensembles.

Is there anything I need to know before uploading my video to Youtube or Vimeo?

We suggest your performance should be between 1-6 minutes in length. If you submit a longer video, please make a note in the registration of where you want want the pro to start and end the evaluation. Be careful that your video is not set to Private in Youtube or that there is no password protection. You can set videos to Unlisted and our pros will still be able to see the video from the link or public. Make sure you watch your video before you post to Youtube or Vimeo and you are satisfied with the audio and video. Please see Youtube or Vimeo’s copyright policies for questions regarding copyright.

Can I upload my video with the upload sheet music button in the registration?

No, the button to upload sheet music will only allow a maximum file size of 10 MB and will only allow PDF, JPEG, PNG or TXT file types. If you are having trouble uploading your performance video to Youtube or Vimeo, please contact us via email at info@performingartspro.com and we can offer other ways to upload your video.
